The Vision

I envisioned a radiant day with learning students painted with joy, unity, and love.  In the countryside of the Irish rolling hillsides, the vision zoomed into focus. A dark dragon flew called Techrevo. Techrevo breathed fire yelling, “I am bringing a new On Demand revolution and shift to consuming media online that will affect you as a student negatively!” I woke up to reality and the cold sun peeking through my bedroom blinds and realized that I had homework due today.  I had a 24 hour day.  What did I do with that time, is another question?  Yesterday was better than usual or so I thought.  I came home from a fun day filled with friends and laughter.  Then I went to my computer to do homework.  I went to the YouTube website and played the song, Simply Amazing.  When I listen to music while I do homework it is very soothing.  I was about to focus on my homework, but I found a related video that I loved.  I began to become unfocused.  I no longer was working on the homework that I was supposed to complete.  I was unfocused and was watching childhood shows from Sister Sister to reality TV, Braxton Family Values.  How did my carved out time for homework become entertainment. My eyes strained in the night lite room while sun went down the horizon.  But most importantly I didn’t get my homework done. Moreover, sense of unity that takes place when a group gathers to watch television shows together was inadequate.  Instead I watch the shows on my computer in total isolation.  In a sense where we were met to connect we are distancing ourselves from one another. But most importantly I didn’t get my homework done. The On Demand revolution and shift to consuming media online affected me negative as a student because is causes, strained eyes, poor time management, lost focus, and discourages unity.
